Whippersnapper, Stories, LP UK WPS Records 1991 - WPS 005

In 1991, Whippersnapper returned, now a trio consisting of Martin Jenkins, Kevin Dempsey, and Chris Leslie. The album, available on both CD and LP, was recorded at Blue Strike Recorders in Harrogate by engineer Will Jackson. It's not a brilliant work, but it's certainly rich in originality. Jenkins' presence is palpable, but Dempsey and Leslie's compositions, in pure Fairport style, are somewhat disappointing. The cover is beautiful and evocative, but the photographs by Hour Glass, which confuse Kevin Dempsey with Chris Leslie, are questionable.

Nel 1991 ritornano i Whippersnapper, ormai solo un trio formato da Martin Jenkins, Kevin Dempsey e Chris Leslie. L'album, disponibile sia in formato CD che LP, viene registrato al Blue Strike Recorders di Harrogate dal fonico Will Jackson. Non è un lavoro che si possa definire brillante ma sicuramente è ricco di elementi di originalità, la presenza di Jenkins si avverte ma le composizioni di Dempsey e quelle di Leslie in puro stile Fairport sono alquanto deludenti. Bella ed evocativa la copertina, discutibile invece le fotografie curate da quelli della Hour Glass che confondono Kevin Dempsey con Chris Leslie.
