With Martin Carthy replacing John Harrison, the Watersons returned to the folk scene after several years of silence. It is, in the opinion of many, the group's best album. The new producer was Tony Engle; the recording was done by Nic Kinsey at London's Livingston Studios, and the album was released by Topic. The album was then reissued in the States with a beautiful cover photo by Keith Morris.

Con Martin Carthy al posto di John Harrison, gli Watersons ritornano sulle scene del folk dopo alcuni anni di silenzio. Si tratta, a giudizio di molti, del miglior album del gruppo.
